Recreating prestigious golf courses of the world
ALPENSIA 700 GOLF CLUBThis uphill par 5 hole is stretched out straight as if it is a nest under the mountaintop, and the last hill causes an optical illusion so it looks like the green is closer while the actual green is situated beyond it. Hitting your tee shot to pass the front valley hazard will be difficult, but it is easier if you target the left bunker. A short putt not reaching the pin is advantageous because of the continuous uphill green that rises from the bottom to the top.
· This course is famous for the first winning of the golfer Jang Jeong in her first U.S league, defeating Annika Sörenstam at the British Open in 2005.
· The impressive aspects of this hole are the mounds and pot bunkers located on both sides of the hole, and the bushes at the back of the green.
· Even though it is the short-distance par-5 hole, there are alternately located deep and narrow bunkers on either side of the fairway, providing psychological burdens to the players. However, having a daring shot is one way to make the play easy on this hole.
· The course is symmetrically arranged because the play line from the tee through IP was different from the original hole due to the geographic conditions.
· By placing the bushes (shrubs) at the back of the green which is the major key to making a strategy, you can plan the same strategy with the original hole.
