PRO TIP

This short par 4 hole allows for a birdie chance for long-ball hitters if they hit the perfect tee shot to leave the approach distance only. However, a south wind blows often so there is a high chance that your ball may enter the two bunkers placed in a row at the center of the IP point. It is safer to aim shorter than directly at the pin for this considerably spacious and horizontally shaped green because there is no available space when you hit over the green.

Characteristic of the Original Hole

· It is the cradle of golf where British Open took place from 1860 through 2005.

· Heathery, the name of the hole, refers to the wasteland with thick heath and is derived from the original natural state of the green.

· In general, this hole resembles a wild meadow and is characterized by the hidden bunker that looks hollow on the middle of the fairway, the pot bunker blocking the front area of the green, and severely winding topography of the fairway.

Feature of the Replica Plan

· This short-distance hole requires you to establish a strategy whether making a shot above the A or B bunker.

· Because the shape of the topography is bent towards the right, the original hole has been symmetrically constructed along with the detailed planning of the area.
